Chapter XXXIX
March 12th, 2006
Yesterday was a long day.
I spent the whole day at home with my family having a simple dinner of SUTUKIL (sugba, tinola and kinilaw) of fresh fish bought from Dampa. Then the night was capped by downing some beer with my brethren.
No fancy party, no lavish revelry, just a symbolic gesture of escorting another passing day, on my 39th birthday.
It was a long day yesterday. Like in old age the years are short and day’s long.
One summer more and I’ll be four decades
Old.
