Weird Habits Tag

July 24th, 2006 Comments off

Tagged by Bambit:

The writer will create a blog with “6 weird things/habits about yourself.”

People who get tagged will have to post a blog of their own telling 6 weird things/habits about themselves.

At the end of your 6 weird/things/habits, you need to choose 6 people that you would like to be tagged and list their names.

Don’t forget to leave a comment that says “You are Tagged!” in their comments and tell them to read yours for instructions on how to proceed!

Here goes some of my habits that others may find weird…

1) I always blow air into the mouth of a beer bottle before taking a gulp.

2) I never ask light for my cigarette from an elderly person.

3) I never light my cigarette from a candle flame.

4) I spit everytime I take a leak.

5) I don’t leave the house when the time is not at full, quarter or half the hour.

6) I don’t take the first taxi that comes my way.

I now tag the following people:

1. Major Tom
2. Denver
3. Rene
4. Babypink
5. Caterpillar
6. and anyone else who reads this!

Maritess vs. The Superfriends Reload

July 18th, 2006 Comments off

I have already seen this Maritess vs. Superfriends comedy flick way back in 2002. Thanks to Youtube, now I can post and run it here on my blog.

Here’s the flick’s introduction from its producer’s website:

Did you ever wonder why whenever you’d watch “The Superfriends” on a Saturday morning way back in the day, that the Hall of Justice was kept so nice and clean? Well, it was because of their Filipina maid who you never saw.

We’ve all heard about the plight of all the Overseas Filipino Workers leaving the Philippines in the thousands just to find jobs good enough to send money back to their families in the islands. Many of them still suffer disgraceful working and living conditions beyond our comprehension, oftentimes silently.

Even our own Superfriends can treat these domestic laborers very much in the same manner and this is one of their stories…

Eksenang Airport

April 20th, 2006 Comments off

Create your own Saging Republic

February 2nd, 2006 Comments off

If you’re sick and tired on how our country is being run, why not create your own and run it the way you want it to be. This is what I just did. I created a country named The Democratic States of Mandanawi (after the ancient name of Mindanaw).

Over lunch my teenage stepson X and I were discussing about some recent sickening events in our country. Out of the blue he suddenly asked me if I wanted to create a country of my own and run it. A bit confused I just dismissed it as one of his usual banters and told him, “Well, if we are a billion richer than Bill Gates, we can surely buy a country of our own”. But X was not joking. He told me about an internet site where one can virtually create a country and run it. It caught my interest and immediately after lunch he led me to that internet site where I eventually created a country of my own.

Go and visit the Jennifer Government:Nation-State site and create your own utopian paradise. Here you can create a country, establish your own system, have your own motto and flag, have diplomatic relations with other countries and become part of a Regional formation and the United Nations, etc.. Once a day, you’ll be faced with an issue, and need to make a decision as to what to do about it. This determines how your nation evolves.

It’s just a game and it’s fun. It takes you to a trip to a virtual world where the madness of real contemporary politics exists. Try it and see how your country evolves and progress.
