In an unpredictable weather, you have to wear a raincoat
and a pair of sunglasses at the same time.
You don’t know when it will rain
or when the sun blinds you with its glare.
This makes you the perfect description
of a suspicious looking person.

Paranaque City
Below
us are
sequins, a
spangled map laid out
neatly like a wedding gown
on
top of
a bed waiting
to be photographed. Tiny
diamonds, jade, pearls, and emeralds
stitched
in patterns
of ordered chaos
with scattered intervals of
glimmer and darkness. As our
plane
slowly descends
and find its
way into a dark
and lonely airport at night.

Skies of Metro Manila
While waiting for my Chungking Express download to finish:
I’ll walk the narrow alleyways
and cobbled streets of
magical Kathmandu.
Then under clear Moroccan skies,
travel by train to Marakesh.
Afternoon humidity
has a way of stupefying
your senses.

Paranaque City
Dito mas marami
pang naitanim na
bomba’t bala,
kesa palay o gulay.
Sa malawak na mga lupaing
hinayaan na lang
nakatiwangwang.
Walang makakapansin
sa parating na tag-ulan.

On the highway travelling
from Cotabato City to Davao City
Cruising rain drenched highways along sleepy towns.
Where there are no tall buildings.
Only tall trees and the wide, lush field of dreams.

(highway to Davao city from Cotabato city)
The MRT is the greatest leveler of human scent.
You ride cheek by jowl with passengers
you exchange gifts of scent.
Some pleasant, some gross.
Others make you remember,
the Albatross.

MRT
utoy, bigyan mo ako
ng isang tasang mainit
na kape,
matapang,
wag mong lagyan ng gatas
tsaka konting asukal lang.
Samahan mo na rin ng biskwit.
Order ng isang gusto lang magkape
sa Starbucks.
